Work on Cobbs Creek Parkway

Temporary closure scheduled overnight Thursday, September 20th

PHILADELPHIA –Cobbs Creek Parkway, between 70th Street and Upland Street will be closed to traffic overnight Thursday, September 20th beginning at 9:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. Friday, September 21st announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams.  The following temporary restrictions are scheduled to be in effect:

  • Northbound traffic will be stopped at Upland Street.  Vehicles can continue north using Upland Street to 71st Street, then left to 70th Street.  Traffic that wishes to return to Cobb’s Creek Parkway can make a left on 70th Street.
  • Southbound traffic will be stopped at 70th Street.  Vehicles can continue south using 70th Street and then turning right onto Greenway Avenue.

This temporary closure will allow Streets Department employees to safely complete roadway repairs. This work has been scheduled for overnight hours to expedite repairs and minimize the disruption to motorists. This closure is part of a larger project that has included multiple overnight closures over the course of August and September. Advance notification will be provided for each separate closure.

Work will be completed by 5:00 a.m. Friday for the morning Rush Hour. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians.  The Streets Department thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
