Streets Department Schedules Maintenance Work on Cobbs Creek Parkway

Streets Department Schedules Maintenance
Work on Cobbs Creek Parkway

Temporary closure scheduled for Wednesday, August 8 through Thursday, August 9

PHILADELPHIA –Cobbs Creek Parkway, between 67th Street and Springfield Avenue/60th Street, will be closed to all traffic from 9:00 PM on Wednesday until 5:00 AM on Thursday, Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams announced today.  The following temporary restrictions are scheduled to be in effect:

  • Northbound traffic will be stopped at 67th Street.  Vehicles can continue north using 67th Street to Chester Avenue, then 63rd Street to Woodland Avenue.  Traffic that wishes to return to Cobb’s Creek Parkway can do so at 58th Street.
  • Southbound traffic will be stopped at Springfield Avenue.  Vehicles can continue south using 60th Street and then turning right onto Woodland Avenue.

This temporary closure will allow Streets Department employees to safely complete roadway repairs. This work has been scheduled for night time hours to expedite repairs and minimize the disruption to motorists. This closure is part of a larger project that will include multiple overnight closures over the course of August and early September. Advance notification will be provided for each separate closure.

Work will be completed by 5:00 AM Thursday. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians.  The Streets Department thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
