PHILADELPHIA – The Ridge Avenue on-ramp to Northbound US-1 (the Roosevelt Blvd. Extension), will be closed temporarily on Saturday, July 18th, Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams, announced today. The temporary full-closure of the on-ramp, that enters the Roosevelt Blvd extension, between Midvale Avenue and Scotts Lane, is scheduled to be in effect from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Detour signs will be posted for the duration of the closure. Drivers should consider the following alternate detour routes to access Roosevelt Blvd.:
The temporary closure will allow City employees to safely remove trees that were knocked down by storms earlier in the year and to repair fencing on the overhead pedestrian bridge. This work has been scheduled for weekend hours in order to expedite repairs, minimize any disruption to motorists, and provide the safest work environment for employees. Police Department assistance will be on site to help maintain a safe traffic flow in the area.
All work will be completed and traffic will be restored by 4:00 p.m. If work proceeds more quickly than anticipated, the roadway may open earlier. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, residents, and businesses. The Streets Department thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
