Lincoln Drive Temporary Closure Saturday February 2nd

PHILADELPHIA – Lincoln Drive will close to traffic Saturday, February 2nd between Gypsy Lane and Wissahickon Avenue for routine maintenance and the installation of new signage announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams. Weather permitting, the closure is in effect for both directions from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Should the work be completed sooner, the roadway restrictions will be lifted accordingly.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes during this time frame. Detour routes will not be posted for the duration of the closure.  This temporary closure will allow Streets Department employees to safely access and assess multiple areas of the roadway. This work has been scheduled during the Saturday morning and early afternoon hours in order to provide the best protection for employees, to expedite any needed repairs and minimize the disruption to motorists commuting on the weekdays.

All work will be completed and traffic restored by 3:00 p.m.  For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians.  The Streets Department thanks residents in advance for their patience and cooperation while performing routine maintenance.

Scheduled construction for The Lincoln Drive Restoration Project is expected to resume in the Spring and continue through December 2019. The contractor is A.P. Construction. Stay updated on the progress of the Lincoln Drive Restoration Project at
