ADA Curb Ramp Upgrades and Raised Crosswalks Project Begins for the 100 and 200 blocks of Market Street

 

PHILADELPHIA – Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams announced today that work will begin on Monday, October 15 for the ADA Curb Ramp Upgrades and Raised Crosswalks Project on the 100 and 200 blocks of Market Street. Construction of raised asphalt crosswalks will be on the south side of the Market Street at Bodine Street, Letitia Street and Strawberry Street. ADA Curb ramps will be upgraded on the south side of Market Street at Banks Street.

 

This work includes the construction of ADA ramps, roadway and footway restoration, adjustment and resetting of manhole castings and inlets, along with other incidental work necessary.

 

Construction is expected to be completed by April 2019.  The amount of the construction contract is $708,865 and it is being funded with 100% City Capital Budget funds.

 

The Streets Department thanks the citizens for their efforts and involvement during the design phase of this project.  It also thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during the upcoming project.
