Streets Department performs roadway repairs on Lombard, 7th to 8th

Streets Department Schedules Maintenance Work on Lombard Street
Daytime Work Scheduled Beginning Thursday, August 23rd  

PHILADELPHIA - The Streets Department will perform repairs to the roadway base on Lombard Street between 7th and 8th Streets beginning Thursday, August 23rd lasting through Monday, August 27th weather permitting, announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams.

Work on the stretch of roadway will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Crews are not expected to work on Sunday, August 26th.   Complete closure of the street is expected throughout the day in order to allow crews to make necessary roadway repairs. Motorists are encouraged to use Spruce Street as an alternative route. Detour signs will not be posted. Accommodations for SEPTA buses with normal routes on Locust Street will be coordinated with SEPTA. Visit SEPTA’s website for route changes and detours.

Residents are urged not to park vehicles on work sites where temporary "No Parking" signs are posted to avoid vehicles being towed.  In the event a car is towed, please contact the Ninth Police District at 215-686-3090 to determine its location.
