PROGRAMS

What can you and your neighbors do to help?

Education and awareness build momentum. We'll work closely with community leaders to bring UnLitter Us to ground level, showing you and your neighbors specific ways to do away with litter and keep it away--especially in areas that need improvement most. We’ll build on small neighborhood successes to create success citywide.

UnLitter Us Presentations

We'll attend meetings and events in your community to promote anti-litter behavior and discuss all the different kinds of litter and how to reduce them. Request a presentation by calling (215) 871-0400.

Litter Free Zone Programs

We hope to add to the number of community groups already committed to keeping their "zones" clean. Each success leads to another, and all will be recognized for their efforts.

15th STREET BRIDGE BETWEEN CALLOWHILL
AND SPRING GARDEN STREETS CLOSURE

Effective Wednesday, January 16

PHILADELPHIA - Effective Wednesday, January 16, the 15th Street Bridge between Callowhill and Spring Garden Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic, Streets Commissioner Clarena I. W. Tolson announced today. The closure is necessary in response to a routine inspection that found structural damage to the bridge.

The closure is effective for the entire length of the bridge and will be closed to vehicular traffic until further notice, however, pedestrians and bicycles will be permitted to cross. The posted detour route includes Broad Street from Spring Garden Street to Callowill Street.

The Streets Department regrets any inconvenience resulting from this closure. We would like to thank citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation. It is our goal to have the bridge opened as soon as possible.
