ELEVEN PHILADELPHIA SCHOOLS ACCEPTED INTO PHILADELPHIA RECYCLING REWARDS’ GREEN SCHOOLS GRANT PROGRAM
Donate Recycling Rewards Points to Help Local Schools Fund Green Projects
Philadelphia, PA – The Streets Department announces that eleven (11) Philadelphia Schools have been accepted in the Philadelphia Recycling Rewards Program Green Schools Grant Program. Recyclebank, the City’s partner in the Philadelphia Recycling Rewards Program, awards environmental project grants up to $2,500 to Philadelphia schools, grades K-12. Schools accepted into the Green Schools Program earn money based on Recyclebank point donations that will fund their projects.
The following schools have until March 15 to encourage their teachers, parents, friends and community members to donate their unused Recycling Rewards points to fund their projects. To learn more about the program, visit http://www.Recyclebank.com/greenschoolsprogram

· Ann Frank Elementary School School Gardens
· Bache-Martin Elementary School New Bicycle Racks
· Belmont Charter School School Garden
· C.W. Henry School Recycling Program and Outdoor Classroom
· Central High School Recycling, Resource Management, Earth Day Festival
· George W. Nebinger School Storm Water Management & School Garden
· John Story Jenks Elementary School Garden & Healthy Food Program
· South Philadelphia High School Arboretum
· Springside Chestnut Hill Academy Outdoor Recycling Stations
· St. Martin de Porres School Recycling Education
· Wissahickon Charter School Compost and Recycling Program
The schools have chosen their own innovative Green Plans from one of five categories:
• Land Beautification and Cultivation
• Recycling Education and Practice
• Natural Resource Preservation and Management
• Eco-conscious Food Supply and Waste Management
• Other (create a new and innovative eco-conscious program)
