PRESS RELEASE: STREETS DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES START OF CONSTRUCTION FOR CRESHEIM VALLEY DRIVE

Work Will Start on Monday, August 6

Philadelphia – Streets Commissioner Clarena Tolson announced today that construction along Cresheim Valley Drive will begin on Monday, August 6. Motorists are advised of intermittent lane closures during the project.

Immediate work includes rehabilitation of the Cresheim Valley Drive, from Germantown Avenue to Cresheim Road. Construction is expected to last approximately six months. Any single lane closures that may be required during construction will be done during the offpeak hours of 9am to 4pm.

In 2004 Cresheim Valley Drive was damaged by major floods and emergency repairs were made at that time. This project takes those repairs one step further to reduce the risk of washouts from future severe storms. The roads will also be resurfaced in this project to restore the riding surface which has deteriorated with age.

The Streets Department thanks the citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
