PRESS RELEASE: Streets Department Schedules Maintenance Work On Lincoln Drive
Temporary closure scheduled for Saturday, November 17
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Lincoln Drive between Wissahickon Avenue and Ridge Avenue/Kelly Drive will be closed temporarily on Saturday, November 17, Streets Commissioner Clarena I. W. Tolson announced today. The following temporary full closure is scheduled to be in effect from approximately 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday:
Southbound Lincoln Drive traffic will be blocked at Wissahickon Drive. A marked detour will carry traffic to the end of Lincoln Drive at Ridge Avenue by way of Walnut Lane.
Northbound traffic will be blocked at all entrances to the south end of Lincoln Drive. No detour is provided for northbound traffic due to the numerous entrances. Suggested alternate roadways are Walnut Lane or Schoolhouse Lane.
Due to the volume of workers and equipment, pedestrian and bicycle traffic will also be prohibited during this closure.
The temporary closure will allow City employees to safely work along this stretch of road. This work has been scheduled for weekend hours in order to expedite repairs and minimize disruption to motorists.
All work will be completed and traffic will be restored by 5:00 PM. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, residents, and businesses. The Streets Department would like to thank citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
